Carol + Don’s Autumn Wedding

Carol + Don spent nearly a decade together before finally tying the knot, watching their children grow, fall in love, and a few even start their own families. It was a pleasure to be a part of their day. Choosing the historic grounds of Glen Foerd Mansion for their first look and holding their ceremony and reception at Knights of Columbus Hall, they were married on October 13, 2012 on Carol’s parent’s 61st wedding anniversary and making a point to involve their children and grandchildren in their wedding party. Carol’s daughter Megan and Don’s son Don starred as their MOH and Best Man, so it was truly a family affair!

Carol wore a lovely champagne tiered gown and sequined jacket from David’s Bridal, earrings given to her grandmother on her 16th birthday, and carried a purse bought by her mother from an antique store. Other thrifty finds included the ring box, their champagne glasses, and the card box (originally from David’s Bridal).

Paying homage to their love for bird watching, they decorated their Oteri’s Bakery cake with wooden Bird B&G cake toppers from Etsy.com to and choosing an alternative guestbook of colorful paper birds stored in a vintage-style birdcage purchased from Michaels. Inspired by the season, they collected pine cones and made the guest card holders themselves along with their centerpieces while Melissa (Carol’s daughter) made their head table piece. Carol’s granddaughter put together the favors, monogrammed boxes filled with hershey’s kisses and tied with a brown ribbon. Carol carried a bouquet of lace and cedar roses matching Don’s cedar rose boutonniere. Special thanks to Mike Edinger and the Knight’s of Columbus (James Street Location) staff, Nick Milillo of M.E.I Catering, Ralph Antonelli of Antonelli Entertainment for Emceeing/DJing, Officiant Stacy Litz of Liberty Weddings, and Valerie Glynn of Blade’s Hair Salon.

Now…onto the photos!

Nina + Claudio were married at St. Leo’s Church in Philadelphia on September 29th, 2012. Nina planned this wedding herself and did an AWESOME job. A few details of the reception at Cottage Green included an antipasto table, a candy bar, cigars for the gents, and a heck of a fun time. WOO-WEE, What do you get when you put together a big Italian family with a big Brazilian family, warm kind souls, good music, and great food?! A REALLY AWESOME TIME!!  Special Thanks to Kevin and the Village Catering staff at Cottage Green for the reception, Oteri’s Bakery for the cake, Ken’s Entertainment Group for Videography, London Creative Florists, Ali Baba LimoHooked on HairDavid’s Bridal, and Men’s Wearhouse.

Melissa & Isaiah’s March 30th Wedding

Melissa & Isaiah were married on March 30th, 2012 in a small ceremony at First Unitarian Church with only immediate family members in attendance. I love being a part  of such intimate events, you just really feel like you’re part of the family. After their brief ceremony, we had plenty of time to walk around the city and take some fun portraits, most of which were captured along the green banks of the Schuylkill River off of the Walnut and Chestnut street entrances. But first, we took full advantage of the gorgeous color scheme of the main sanctuary of First Unitarian which boasts dark wood, deep red, and turquoise colors…unique and mysterious! We then ventured over to Il Pittore, a Stephen Starr restaurant, where they had a lovely private dinner reception.

Melissa runs a fashion blog  and would love to one day run her own line.  She wore a beaded cocktail length white wedding dress and a 40′s inspired ‘birdcage’ veil. Paired with white satin pumps with a jeweled applique, a vintage pearled purse, and a bouquet of deep red roses and red lips to match, Melissa kept things simple and classic, yet contemporary. Her and Isaiah’s style and personality were perfectly aligned with my style of photography.

Congratulations Melissa & Isaiah!
